Abstract

One of the most difficult anthologies in the history of the Persian poetry belongs to Khāqāni Sharvāni. In spite of extensive research in recent years about the poetry and thoughts of this great poet and the unraveling of many of his difficult and far-fetched poems, there are still a lot of neglected and undiscovered aspects in his anthology. Shedding light on these aspects requires more linguistic and literary research and detailed intratextual and intertextual investigations. With this aim and through an analytical and semantic approach, the present research delves into some difficult verses of Khāqāni and critically examines the previous research by reviewing the recordings of some words and combinations and their connection with other parts of speech. Also, the examination of various intratextual linguistic relations provides a new understanding of the concepts in Khãqãni's phrases and verses. Thus, considering some semantic, linguistic and literary nuances and the intertextual relationships in the Persian literature, this research seeks to analyze the meanings, discover how each semantic concept functionsin Khãqãni's speech, and present a clear and precise interpretation of the verses.
